This 2026 series explores the consequences of media consumption and the physical and psychological impacts created by predatory social media, from a feminine perspective.

As participants of individualistic, capitalist society, is anyone truly themselves without being shaped by the commercialism and commodification integral to the existence of social media? Especially when it’s virtually impossible to participate as a functional member of society whilst ‘outside of the system’, without sufficient privilege, autonomy and financial independence. How well can you really know yourself? Can you ever be fully aware of the inseparable relationships between your self expression and behaviour, within the context of social media, niche internet communities and performance culture?
