Perfect Femme

is a three piece steel series which explores the consequences of rampant media consumption, sex iconography and the physiological impacts created by predatory social media. 

Evidenced upon a reflective surface, Perfect Femme invites the question - how well do you really know yourself? Is your self expression and behaviour decipherable within the context of social media, niche internet communities and performance culture? Can you ever be fully aware of, let alone untouched by the commercialism and commodification integral to the existence of the internet?

Without sufficient privilege, autonomy and financial independence, it’s virtually impossible to participate as a functional member of society whilst ‘outside of the system’. Can individualism and integrity coexist in this current climate?

These works demonstrate deeply philosophical research, succeeded by drawing, mark making, photography, design and realised through large-scale screen printing.
